Tiny Breed Dog Training

Exactly why dog lovers possess this preconceived belief that small breed pups are more difficult to educate than medium sized or larger breed canines, I will never be able to comprehend. Housebreaking a puppy, in spite of its size should not be problematic.

Small dog training, is not different from training a pup of any other larger sized breed. Although training any puppy will have its peculiarities, based on its breed, invariably all other elements remain similar, and the technique to training the dog should not be different, not withstanding its size.

However, I will make an exception here, and admit that small dog training may offer difficulties in two facets, (1) Aggression and (2) Puppy crate training. Even so, this is not because the fact that it is a small breed dog, but in every instance, because of the owner.

If a smaller breed dog is aggressive and is difficult to train, or if a tiny breed puppy dog cannot be toilet trained or poses obstacles in being crate trained, it is the owner who has ignorantly contributed to this problem. Let us analyze how and why.

Aggression.

Smaller dogs are loved because they are adorable, they are like dolls. Owners take pleasure in having their doggy sit on their laps. This specific indulgence is where the problem begins. The basic aggressive nature of the canine, is to declare ownership over its world, its food, even its leader; all pups strive to be the alpha dog.

It is the ruthless streak in the dog that provokes it to get on to the lap of its master, especially when there are a good number of individuals sitting in the room.

This is a outright act of ruthlessness. Instead of chastising and checking the pup, every owner with the exception of no one, would cuddle the pooch, notwithstanding that it jumped on to their lap uninvited, promoting the aggressive streak in the puppy. In this way the owner has given into the pup's inherent need to be the alpha dog.

Growling and getting angry at a a larger size dog is another outright act of hostility. To the owner, and even the people who witness it, this is viewed as cute, mainly because one dog is small while the other is large. Most owners praise the dog instead of chastising it, when it stands this aggression to a larger dog.

What is stated above are but instances as to why small size breed pet dogs are aggressive, and not because small dog training is problematic.

Bathroom Training

Owners choose to tote their small pets around where ever they go, even while they are at home and that makes it very difficult to house break them

It is, as if by instinct that the owners of small breed dogs to carry the animal to the designated place where the puppy should eliminate itself and then tote it back into the house.

It is this routine of carrying the pup to its toilet place that is the root of all problems. In addition, as the pup is as a rule carried around such a lot it has no way of it informing or warning the owner that it has to poop.

Small dog training starts with treating the dog as any other medium sized or larger sized dog. They have to be shown their potty area on a leash. If owners avoid carrying their small breed dogs they would have no problems in training them.

Dog crate training, is the most interesting part of puppy training, and so it can be, even in Small Dog Training.
