I was raised in little district, with a few to no acquaintances and woods surrounding my house. I didn't have any parks to play in or grounds to run up and down. I am a parent of two at present, and the grateful owner of an outdoor swing set. There are days when I just can't deal with my kids and all I may do is to move them outdoor to play on it. Without having the swings and slide to stay them focused I don't get a break easily. So it makes me wonder how my mom survived. I recall climbing trees and hiking down trails in the forest to keep myself involved. Being an avid book reader I could involve myself for a lot of time in just the details of a story. But I never had an outdoor swing set unfortunately.

I don't think young children nowadays have it better than we did back then, but I do believe they have it more easier. The lifestyle today needs so little effort in order for it to get fun. My children can sit down and enter a different time without so much considering about the word vision much less using one. The games are all interactive and loud with graphics that are better than movies I used to be so attracted to see in the cinemas 2 times each year. Whether you think this is better, but most will agree that it is not good.

Looks like more has transformed than just the year, we have traded in outside activities for outdoor swing sets.
